We have started to transform his little tiny baby nursery into a not-so-little-tiny toddler room. He still sleeps in his crib, but I moved it to a different wall to make space for some of these items. I got the Alphabet Blocks for Silas for his birthday and found a good spot them. The tree is a vinyl sticker set that my dad and Laurie got Silas for his birthday. Some of the leaves have removable areas where you can put family photos and use it as a Family Tree. I can't wait to finish that part of the project so that Silas will have an easier time learning all of his family members, as we certainly don't get to see each other as frequently as we all wish. This also gives us more space to move some of the toys from the living room into his bedroom.

Today was the Postal Service's Stamp Out Hunger day where the mail carriers collect food for local food banks - and all you have to do is leave the bags of food by your mailbox. Could it be any easier? I decided to see how much non-perishable food I could get for $20 and ended up with this. (Can you tell I have a soft spot for babies? Baby oatmeal, baby veggies, baby formula...)

Jonathan participated in the annual fundraiser for Sexual Assault Center of Pierce County last Friday - Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. Silas got to come along too! They walk right in front of my work, and so Silas and I helped pass out little water bottles to the participants. Jonathan raised a few hundred dollars, and I know every penny helps - especially during tough economic times. Isn't this kid adorable?

My car hit 100,000 miles - and I actually saw it switch. Exciting, huh...And apparently I need some gas. Anyone want to send me some gas money???

The only other "exciting" adventure I had was getting food poisoning last weekend and going to the ER for the first time ever. 6 hours, 1 IV, 1 CAT scan and 2 prescriptions later...diagnosis is unknown, but I feel 100% better. Well - not true - I got a cold yesterday and now my belly is better, but my nose is not (is snot?). :) But I will take a cold over food poison anytime!!!
Hope you enjoyed this little miscellaneous update. Overall, we are all happy and healthy and hope you are too!

I'm feel so bad that you got sick. Do you remember what you ate? I LOVE Sila's family tree what a great idea. It's hard to believe that he's a toddler!!! I will always have to remember him as a small, totally handsome, adorable baby.
I am totally buying one of those sticker things! What a great idea! It's true that kids do well with pics of family members...Gracie has a bulletin board with everyone on it, and she knows all their names and faces (if you remember, there are a lot of people!) So glad you are OK...kind of an ordeal! 6 hours? A CAT scan? Yikes.
