We're wrapping up Week 17 and so far, so good. My pregnancy with Silas was the fodder for this blog in the first place, so I'm happy to still have it to record and share our memories, even 2.5 years later!
Of course, we are totally thrilled to be adding another little Grove to our family. And, of course, we're hoping to avoid 15 weeks of bed rest this time around!!! I've started to get very regular ultrasounds to keep an eye on things, and since I have history of preterm labor, I'm getting a weekly shot that's supposed to help get me to full term this time around. Happily, the shot not painful and quick easy. And lots of ultrasounds is probably the only perk of a high-risk pregnancy.
Here are two photos from our ultrasound earlier this week...There's the freaky alien shot of it's face - looking straight on. And then a cute little foot. The quality of these pictures is terrible, but the best I could do. It was printed, then scanned, then e-mailed, then cut/paste from a PDF and then finally uploaded here.
We have another ultrasound in about 10 days - the big anatomical scan - and hope we'll get some better photos then.
To answer some of the FAQ...
1) What's the sex? I don't know.
2) When will you find out? Just like Silas, we do not want to know until the baby is born!
3) When's the baby due? Our due day is December 17 - which was my mom's birthday! If born on time, Silas and the babe will be just under 3 years apart.
4) Do you have names picked out yet? We have a few ideas, but again, will likely keep them private until the little one is born.
5) Have you told Silas about the baby? We've tried to tell him, but I'm certain he has no clue what's in store. He does like to repeat "I'M A BIG BROTHER!" and it's adorable.
Face picture - this is a straight-on view of the face...the brain to the right, then two alien eyes, and finally the cute little smile to the left.
Foot Picture - this is the only other photo they printed for us - a cute little foot. The arrow is pointing to the ball of the foot, with the big toe on top and pinkie toe toward the bottom. The heel is to the right.
More updates to come! Yippee!!! :)
