Update on the 101 in 1001 List!

8. Get a small point-and-shoot digital camera (Dec 2008) - Christmas present!

80. Get ride of myspace account (Jan 2009) - I just did it! They say it may take up to 48 hours to be complete though. I started looking at pictures, scanning old friend's photos, etc. And then realized I'd never cancel the account if I didn't just hit cancel and be done with it. I feel like I've exited approximately the 9th grade...and now I'm stuck as a college sophomore with Facebook. But everyone has facebook these days, right!

88. Buy a paper cutter (Dec 2008) - Christmas present! And I've already used it a bunch! While laying down! Those are some crafting skillz right there, folks!


Sorry for a boring blog. We just learned that Jonathan's car won't start either...just assumed it would because it got hit from the back. But as he just tried to go run errands, no such luck. Now we have three vehicles at our house - NONE of which work. Good thing Enterprise picks up their customers, because we will BOTH need to start utilizing their services starting Tuesday morning.

And the last thing I want to say is that anyone who doesn't have an well-stocked emergency fund, I highly suggest starting one as your 2009 goal. We've worked hard over the years to grow our emergency fund. Sometimes I thought it'd be way more fun to blow a chunk on a big vacation, or just not be so frugal all the time. But within a short time frame, we're understanding how important this really can be - when you least expect it. (Hence, the term Emergency Fund, huh!) Within about 3 months, our Civic was stolen and we had to get a new vehicle, I have lost all my income during bed rest and upcoming maternity leave, lots and lots of medical bills due to the pregnancy complications, this recent car accident leaving us with no mode of transportation and in need of yet another new vehicle...and car rental in the meantime. Oh yeah - and a baby due within a month. So I stand tall from my soap box and say if you have not done so yet, start an emergency fund NOW and set up automatic transfers NOW!
