Jonathan, Silas and I went to Virginia to visit Jonathan's family from March 26-30, 2009. This was Silas's first trip on an airplane, at the ripe age of 2.5 months old! He was a perfect traveler.
It was a WHIRLWIND of a trip and we are already wanting to plan another trip back home. We got into town on a Thursday night and just spent the first evening hanging around and chatting. On Friday, we met Jonathan's dad, John, up for lunch. Then we did a big "Baby Show-and-Tell" tour of Staunton and Waynesboro. First, we stopped at Jonathan's mom's (Chris) work. Then we went to Katie's old employer. Which was followed by a stop at John's office.
On Saturday, Jonathan and his friend/colleague Joshua presented at a conference at Washington & Lee. They were gone for the bulk of the day...so Chris and Katie did what they do best...baked amazing cupcakes, made a delicious early-birthday cake for Jonathan, napped and shopped! Saturday evening, Katie, Jonathan and Silas headed back into town to meet up with our old Staunton friends, Amber, Kevin, Mandi, Rodney and family at Baja Bean.
Sunday afternoon we went to a Grove Family Reunion hosted at Faith and Ronnie's house. Silas got to meet his one-and-only Great Grand Daddy Grove. I will create a separate post of this meeting along with photos.
Then Sunday evening Small Group met at the Grove house. Nearly everyone in Small Group made it out that evening...again, this will get a separate post too!
And believe it or not, we had to get back on the plane on Monday to head back to Tacoma.
It was a really wonderful trip! We can't wait to go back!
