Jonathan and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary yesterday...by doing nothing special...but that's okay! We did watch a movie and snuggle with Silas and reflected on the fact that 6 years ago when we were getting married, we had no idea what a special little boy we'd create and bring into the world!
Two nights ago, Jonathan took Silas "camping" in the backyard and he had a blast...they stayed the whole night and Silas sleepily walked back in around 7:30am - with ice cold hands and a HUGE smile! (I've gotta say, he was a bit of a beast the rest of the morning, then took a 5 HOUR nap and then wouldn't go to bed until midnight last night...so not sure that I'm up for that experience again anytime soon...)
He was really proud to wear his daddy's headlamp:

And give lots of happy snuggles to his dad inside the tent:

Finally, two weeks ago, Silas moved up from the Toddler Room to the PreK-1 Room at daycare. He's doing really well with the older kids and I think much more stimulated and happy than with the littler ones. On Friday he had his first Show & Tell experience and chose to bring his Curious George stuffed animal to share. (He brought Giant George, as opposed to Little George or Big George...we have multiple-sized Curious Georges to choose from in our house!) Very sweet!
Also, today Silas went to his first birthday party as a guest - at least for a kid his own age! One of the kids at his daycare is turning 2 tomorrow and so we went to his birthday party this afternoon. He had a lot of fun and was very good about watching presents get opened - and was allowed to help open one or two at the end. We, of course, gave a Curious George book of 8 different stories, along with a Curious George matching game. He also has invitations for 2 MORE birthday parties for day care kids over the next two weeks! This is a fun new stage!
I'm hoping to catch up on some more posts in the near future...we had a really great time when my dad & Laurie visited in August - lots of sweet photos documenting all our adventures!
