Jonathan has been hard at work in his new graduate program - it's been a pretty intense change of pace for us, because of the evening school schedule and mega-workload. Silas and I are spending all of our time together. Sometimes it's tiring, but at the same time, it's really special one-on-one time that likely won't ever exist in the same way again. We run all the errands together and watch lots of Curious George videos together.
We think Silas is somewhat understanding that a baby is going to join the family. I'll ask him to say hi to the baby, and he will SCREAM in my stomach "Hi BABY! I'm your BROTHER SILAS!" On the other hand, I don't think he has a clue as of what's going to happen soon...honestly, I don't think Jonathan or I do either! I'm really nervous about adding another baby into our already-hectic life. I think there will be a big adjustment period for all of us, but that it will be wonderful in the long run!
This Halloween I made Silas's costume - he was a green crayon, though he insisted that he was a green marker. We went trick-or-treating with the Warwick family and Silas loved running up to the door to say "Trick or Treat!" After each candy success, he'd run back down to the road yelling, "MOMMY! DADDY! I GOT ANOTHER ONE!!!" He ate a few pieces of his candy...I ate the rest!

The green crayon/marker kid again:

In late September Jonathan went to Hawaii as the keynote speaker at a conference put on by the University of Hawaii and the Hawaii Attorney General's office. Unfortunately, due to this being a "high risk pregnancy" I was not allowed to fly, so Silas and I stayed back home and my dad came to help out. I wasn't sure if I'd be on bed rest again, so I wanted to make sure we had some help. We had a really great time...Silas and my dad got to spend a lot of quality time together and it was a really laid back visit.
Papa treated Silas to some ice cream at Cold Stone:

In early October, we made our annual trip out to Tahoma Farms in Orting to pick out pumpkins, take a hayride, take some family photos, etc. At first Silas didn't want to go on the hayride, but his buddy Shawn convinced him that it'd be fun to sit on his lap as we rode behind a tractor and he loved it.
This photo is from the hayride - love that little smile:

The Warwick family was along with us and took this photo of Jonathan and me - I love it! I was about 30 weeks pregnant in this photo...and am a lot bigger now!!! I need to make sure to get some more shots of the belly, before it's too late! I have almost none from when I was pregnant with Silas and promised myself to try to take more this time around...

I'm in the midst of some serious nesting/upgrading around the house while I still have the energy. I ordered new carpet for the downstairs bedrooms...have a tree cutter coming tomorrow to chop down some dying trees, sorting through baby clothes, wrapping Christmas presents, planning for our Thanksgiving visitors, putting together the glider/ottoman set and more!
It's a very exciting time - trying to make the most of it before life revolves around a newborn again!
