Sleeping Beauties

A beautiful, peaceful moment. My boys both soundly sleeping on a chilly, drizzly Sunday afternoon. Can a mama ask for much more? The big one put up a bit of a fight, not wanting to nap - and then finally gave in to slumber, crashing hard. The little one, recovering from his first cold, slept through his brother's loud protests just a foot away...his sweet breaths moving in & out rhythmically through his stuffy nose.

I love his creamy skin. "Little George" snuggled under his skinny arms - two fingers resting at his lips, since he stopped using a binky about a month ago. Love the sun shining on his hair.

They say only let babies sleep on their backs...but just like his brother, Asa sleeps so much better on his tummy. Since I'm in the room, and can hear every little snore, I'm leaving him to sleep in peace just the way he is.

Some days seem so crazy and it's just about keeping up with all the chores and playing wild games with Silas, while trying balance Asa in my arms. And then these quiet times remind me of their purity and that they are simply fragile, beautiful little creatures.
