Another month gone already, but another one starting anew!
Sweet boy, you continue to show your good nature, huge smile, smiley eyes and overall chubbiness to all you encounter. You are an adorable little guy and we are always talking about how lucky we are to have you as our baby!
You've spent the bulk of the past month with quality one-on-one time with your daddy. He's home from work still - but only a few more weeks of that schedule remains. Each morning, your brother calls for you from his room and we help him wake up, with you right next to him. You and your dad drop Silas off at pre-school each morning, and then return home to play, snuggle, nap, smile...all those great baby things. Your dad takes you outside to lay on a blanket most days, now that the weather has gotten decent. You like to squirm off the blanket and pick handfuls of grass. You don't crawl, but do a triangle-type movement with your bottom in the air, and then slide forward or backward. You spin in circles and can make your way to where ever your want to go - slowly, but surely!
Your absolute favorite activity these days is BOUNCING! We got your bouncy chair out and when we put you in it, you go crazy - jumping and bouncing and smiling and laughing! And when you're not in the chair, but standing on our laps, you bend those knees and propel yourself up and back down. It's pretty impressive - there must be some big muscles in those chunky legs of yours!
You and your brother enjoy each other's company more and more every day. Silas calls you "Asa Basa Boo Boo Bear" and it makes you grin! He also loves to blow raspberries on your belly and make you laugh out loud. And if your tummy is covered by clothes, he'll figure out how to blow raspberries on your feed, arms, or wherever else he can make the noise! You are patient with him as he learns how to be gentle with you...I think the two of you will have a GREAT time together once you're a little bigger!
Eating and sleeping are pretty much the same as last month...not really too interested in solid foods yet. You just spray the pureed food out while blowing raspberries. You still go to bed around 8pm, and wake a few times each night...the longest you've let me sleep is a whole 5 hours (and that's on a good night)! You like to get snuggles in our bed, and to sleep on your tummy - of course, two of the things the docs warn against! The only eating change is that I haven't kept up with enough pumping to give you 100% breastmilk, so we've had to introduce part-formula/part-milk during the day when I'm at work. When I'm home and on the weekends, we can keep to 100% breastmilk - which of course, is my preference...but keeping you well-fed and happy is our overall priority. It was a bummer the first time you had formula, as we didn't have to go down that path with Silas. Still makes me a bit sad to not be able to provide all of your food to you, but you don't really seem to mind a bit!
I love you so very much, my little Asa! I'm so happy to be your mama!
