The Ladies' Man

On Friday Jonathan, Silas and I went to what we hope was our last appointment with the lactation consultant. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce! What can I do to keep my baby tiny??? I don't want him to grow up!!! (Of course, I'm so happy that he's gaining weight like he should...) We're still not 100% there with the breastfeeding...Si has gotten 100% breast milk, but the day I can throw away the freaking nipple shield will be a day for glorious celebration. I think I'll have a burning ceremony when I can get rid of it for good. Who wants to come? (We can throw the syringes that we had to use the first two weeks in the flames too! FIRE! FIRE!)

After the appointment, we met up with some of the gals from work for a fun lunch at Varsity Grill. Whitney's dream of finally meeting Silas finally came true! :) For those who don't know, Whitney was a life-saver for us when Silas was born. My dad had ordered the car seat and base for us as a present for Si, but it had not arrived in time to get home from the hospital. Whitney has two daughters, but no longer uses her infant seat, so she pulled off an amazing feat that resulted in our ability to actually leave the hospital on time. We are SOOOO appreciative of her help in getting that car seat to us! :)

And now, the my friends from work (unfortunately, we were missing a few, but here's the bulk of the crew!) Si was quite the ladies' man...what can I say, he is a cutie!
