Calling All Monkeys!!! (Part 1)

Silas's 1st Birthday was a blast - you know - 5 1/2 months ago! We had a really great Little Monkey Birthday Party for Silas on his birthday, January 10. My dad, Mike and Laurie were in town which made it extra special. A huge crowd of friends and family came to the house for the afternoon to celebrate the spectacular little monkey, Silas!

I had a lot of fun thinking up fun ideas around the party theme. All of the little decorations and monkey themed items were all handmade for the party. (Martha Stewart Turquoise Glitter makes life worth living!!!) This post will have photos of all the little details - and I have another post coming with pictures of the Birthday Boy!

Birthday Cupcakes with a very special #1 candle for the Birthday Boy! The cupcake toppers on the other cupcakes had little monkeys with turquoise bellies and "S" with turquoise outlines.

And to eat we had tasty little BABY CAKES

and some crunchy CHIMPS & DIP

and we had MONKEY TAILS

and delicious BANANA SPLITS

and refreshing JUNGLE JUICE

and who doesn't love a little APE SHIT to round out the snacks!?!?

Laurie re-purposed our New Year's Hats into Silas's Birthday Hat!

Rachelle took a trip to Goodwill to look for stuffed animal monkeys - and found more than she could imagine. She brought over about 20 monkeys (that she washed first!) and we scattered them all over the dining room and living room - many hanging from light fixtures, just as little monkeys should.

I need to locate a photo of the adorable invites that Jonathan's mom and I made for the party - I saved one especially for the blog - nearly 6 months later, I'm not sure where it ended up!
