Mike moved from Flagstaff to Ashland back in January - but Ashland is WAY at the bottom of Oregon, nearly an 8 hour drive from Tacoma, so it took us a little while to find the time to drive down there. (It costs more to fly from Seattle to Ashand, than it does from Seattle to DC - yuck!)
I've been working in Portland a few days a month, so we had a 2.5 hour head start on the way south. Jonathan and Silas have been able to come with me on most of my business travel - which makes it feel less like work, and more like vacation (except the 8am-5pm time frame).
Anyway, we started out in Portland...where Silas did his best little monkey routine and ate a banana while jumping on the bed. (Luckily, one did not fall off an bump his head...)

And of course, he had to take a moment give snuggles to Mr. Fox. I want him to stay a cute little baby forever! :)

Silas helped his dad wheel the luggage down to the car. We drove a few hours after work to Eugene and spent the night there so we could get an early start to Ashland the next morning.

We drove a few more hours to Ashland and met up with Mike - and my dad and Laurie, who had flew from Phoenix a few days earlier. Mike took us to a beautiful lake just a few minutes from his house. Spodi and Silas got to splash in the (freezing) water together!

If you've ever heard his whiny little "Nyoooohhhh" you can probably imagine him saying it here. "Nyoooooohhhhh!"

Mikey is looking so good! Out by the lake and mountains - the perfect place for the outdoor adventurer.

By this time, Si had taken a seat in the mud and started making his way into the water...it was too cute to try to stop him - mud and water never hurt anyone, right?

I think he's thinking "wow - this is cold...should I stay in or get out???"

Mike volunteers at a local science museum - he took us there for some fun - it was a great place for Silas to play...and all of us big kids, too! Mike is displaying the powers of a pulley.

Not exactly sure what's happening here, but Grandpa is looking super happy to be with his grandson!

Success!

Silas and the other kiddos at the museum playing in the water table - I love seeing him interacting with other kids - he is so curious around them

Uncle Mike and Daddy show Silas how to make HUGE bubbles - this was the best part of the museum!

Grandpa shows his bubble-making skills while Laurie helps Silas figure out how the magic works

Cutest profile ever - it's amazing to see his face shape - it looks identical to an ultrasound I got a few months before he was born - pretty amazing
Uncle Mike & Cousin Spodi! Spodi is probably the closest thing Silas will have to a cousin anytime soon - I don't think Mike, Philip or Stephen have any plans to have kids in the near future. Luckily, Spodi is a pretty cool guy to have for a cousin! :)

So dapper

Awwww romance! I <3 Jonathan! :)

We had a wonderful time visiting Mike - it was so fun to see his new town and let him show off some of the natural beauty. Our ride home was surprisingly easy - we made it 6 HOURS from Ashland to Portland without stopping once. We finally got to Portland at dinner time and found an awesome, healthy restaurant that has a playground in it - highly recommend it to any parents in (or traveling through) Portland! (Old Wives' Tales Restaurant) We finally made it to home-sweet-home. We miss you Mike - come up and see us SOON!!!

Super cute, it looks like Silas had sooo much fun at the science museum and with all of your family. He's a lucky boy to be surrounded by such wonderful people.
Hey! Do you still sell stuff on etsy? I was looking for a link to that... also I think you should add a link to your photo page to your blog!
