Yee Haw for 29 weeks! Now, 11 weeks left (at most!) is sounding very short!!! I'm going to fight my natural instinct - XTREME Procrastination - and try to keep getting things in order!
It's been 6 weeks of being flat - and it's possible that in 7 more weeks I can start moving around again. So we're nearly half way finished with this bed resting. There are a lot of fun things happening in the meantime, so I think the rest of the time will fly by, compared to the first half.
Mike, Eileen, Jimmy and Shannon are going to be here for Thanksgiving...and then 17 days after they leave, my dad, Laurie, Mike, John, Chris, Philip and Stephen will all be here for the weeks before/during/after Christmas. I am so excited for these visits, to host Thanksgiving again, and to host Christmas for the first time. We usually just use the fake Christmas tree Jonathan had in his dorm room at GMU...since we've been going back to Virginia for Christmas every year over the past few years. Since Christmas will be in Tacoma this year, I really really really want to get a beautiful douglas fir tree! I'll have to decorate from the couch. "Wait - we need another ornament to the left...Now up a little...not that far up! Ok, perfect!" Ok, getting ahead of myself. I need to make the Thanksgiving grocery list first!
Anyway - apologies to Baby Ray - she sent her Talk-to-me-Tuesday responses in time, but for some reason they weren't delivered until 3:26am this morning. I blame it on the fact that she uses hotmail. Who uses hotmail these days!?!?!?! Pure craziness. Everyone knows that Gmail is the way to go. I mean.......even my DAD uses Gmail!!!!!
Since today is another Weekly Milestone, I'm going to delay Talk-to-me-Tuesday until Thursday now.
In the meantime, here's what Grovie Grovester is up to these days:
- Grovie's brain can now control his/her breathing and body temperature. S/he can also cough, and her sucking abilities have been perfected.
- Baby's skin is looking less wrinkled as s/he packs on the pounds. Grovie is starting to look more like a Pampers model and less like a Depends model.
- And while packing on the pounds, Grovie is on fire these days - kicks, punches and elbows!
- This week Grovie is a little over 15 inches long—about the length of a loaf of bread—and weighs about 3 pounds.
I'm definitely feeling and looking much rounder over the past week or so - need to get some photos up for you all very soon!

I am wishing that I had kept such close track of Gracie's development while I was pregnant with her. I probably would have complained a little less about my swollen legs and restricted cookie intake. I know your visits will be wonderful, and next year, the holidays promise to be the very best yet.
