Nursery Fabrics

I've been browsing endlessly online for baby bedding that I like. And I've only found about two sets that I sort-of like...and they're all assininely expensive. I just can't handle all the matchy-matchy stuff. Why does gender-neutral have to equate to light green and light yellow. No! We need color people!

So, I'm branching out on my own when it comes to the nursery decor.

Here are the fabrics that have been purchased so far, along with some coordinating solid colors. The bird print is much more vibrant in real life - not quite as dusky as this image makes it look. The colors in the bird print are the same as the colors in the dots and stars print. I have grand intentions for all this - a fleece-lined blanket, a bird mobile, decorative pillow for the rocking chair, and a wall-hanging - all made from these materials.

I'm going to start hand-stitching the birds for the mobile this week and hope to be able to post some photo updates. Wish me luck! And due to my physical limitations, Rachelle will have to be the main sewing machine operator for some of the bigger projects! So maybe I should be saying wish HER luck!

Did you still want to test out the orange Babies R Us sheet?

Let me know when you're ready for my mad sewing skills and by "mad" I mean I might go mad trying to find them. :) How bad can we screw up a blanket?!

I really like your choices. I also really admire your aspirations at extreme craftiness. If anyone can get it done, you can! I long to see this hand made mobile.
